UFCW Local 152 Attends Economic Relief Roundtable with Amy Kennedy, Governor Murphy

On Wednesday, October 14th, UFCW Local 152 staff attended an Economic Relief Roundtable meeting in Atlantic City, NJ with Governor Murphy, Amy Kennedy, candidate for New Jersey’s Second Congressional District, and other Union Leaders from South Jersey.

The meeting was called to allow Kennedy to discuss her economic recovery plan, including “the need to diversify South Jersey’s economy to provide good-paying jobs and to help rebuild the economy following the pandemic.”

The meeting was later reported by InsiderNJ, with one of our own Union Representatives quoted:

“Our workers are putting themselves at risk every day, yet we’ve seen no urgency to help them from leaders like Jeff Van Drew,” said UFCW Local 152 Union Representative Matte Kane.

“Now more than ever, we need leaders in Washington who will fight to defend good-paying union jobs and worker protections. Amy Kennedy has proven she’s a friend of South Jersey’s workers and will always put our community above party politics.”

The 2020 House of Representatives elections in New Jersey will take place on November 3, 2020. Voters will elect 12 candidates to serve in the House from each of the state’s 12 congressional districts.
