We are excited to announce that five budtenders at Design 710, a cannabis dispensary in Atlantic City, New Jersey, have recently formed a union with UFCW Local 152!
The group unionized by majority card check, certified by a third-party arbitrator in early January. The union will soon meet with these workers to draft contract proposals and schedule bargaining dates with the company to begin the process of obtaining their first union contract.

Finally, congratulations to UFCW Local 152’s Director of Cannabis Peter White and the rest of the Local 152 team for helping these members walk through the process of organizing.
In the last year, UFCW Local 152 has seen tremendous growth in the cannabis division, including the following facilities:
- The Botanist in Egg Harbor Township and Atlantic City, which became the local’s first unionized cannabis facility with the inception of their first contract,
- MPX/iAnthus grow facility in Pleasantville,
- Budtenders at the MPX/iAnthus dispensary in Atlantic City,
- Cultivators at Columbia Care/The Cannabist in Vineland.
