We are excited to announce that on Wednesday, April 3rd, more than thirty workers at MPX/iAnthus in Pleasantville, NJ ratified their first union contract!
The three-year agreement includes salary increases and reductions in healthcare costs for the workers at the cultivation site.
“We’re proud to have these cannabis workers as part of Local 152, and the implementation of their first union contract is something to celebrate,” Local 152 President Dan Ross, Jr. said.
The union’s Cannabis Division has experienced steady growth in the past few years as part of a coordinated effort to meet workers in the industry and help them achieve their goals.
Members at the facility grow and process cannabis and oversee the entire production process. They are excited about the new agreement and appreciate having a voice on the job and the security that comes with a union contract, Director of Cannabis Peter White said.

Finally, congratulations to UFCW Local 152’s Director of Cannabis Peter White, Director of Organizing Mike Thompson, and Union Representatives Bryan String and Antonio Melendez-Mott for walking these members through the process of organizing.
This is the second cannabis division contract for UFCW Local 152. In the last two years, UFCW Local 152 has seen tremendous growth in the cannabis division, including the following facilities:
- The Botanist in Egg Harbor Township and Atlantic City, which became the Local’s first unionized cannabis facility with the inception of their first contract,
- Budtenders at the MPX/iAnthus dispensary in Atlantic City,
- Cultivators at Columbia Care/The Cannabist in Vineland,
- Budtenders at Design 710 in Atlantic City
