On Wednesday, October 1, the workers at ShopRite Wines & Spirits of Vineland Crossing and ShopRite Wines & Spirits of Washington Township ratified a new union contract.

The new contract introduces many new improvements for our members. First, all members will receive an across-the-board wage increase, in addition to guaranteed annual increases, a one-time ratification bonus, and retro pay. With this contract, all workers will now earn a Sunday Premium and an additional paid holiday.

With the implementation of the new three-year agreement, senior full-time employees gained another week of vacation. Part-time employees now have their guaranteed hours raised.

Finally, funeral leave was expanded, and formal provisions were added to the contract for extenuating circumstances such as pandemics and dangerous emergencies. This language gives the union an open door to have discussions with ShopRite regarding safety issues, hazard pay, and more.
