Workers at Casa Di Bertacchi Ratify New Union Contract – 4/22/2026

Workers at Casa Di Bertacchi posing at their ratification meeting, 2026.

On Wednesday, April 22, more than fifty workers at Casa Di Bertacchi in Vineland, New Jersey, ratified a new union contract!

The five-year agreement improves the lives of our members in various ways. Firstly, all members will receive guaranteed across-the-board wage increases each year for the life of the contract. Additionally, members will now receive monetary reimbursement for work boots.

Language was added to comply with the New Jersey Sick Leave Law; now, members have the option to carry over sick days from one year to another. Finally, the Employer-sponsored 401(K) match was increased to allow our Casa Di Bertacchi members to save more in preparation for retirement.

“The Casa Di Bertacchi negotiations showed that fair wages aren’t an abstract idea — they’re grounded in real household costs and economic reality,” said Director of Collective Bargaining Louis Faiola. “This contract moves employees closer to stability and reflects what happens when workers speak with a united voice and insist that their wages keep pace with the real cost of living.”

Congratulations to our members! We’d also like to congratulate the union negotiating committee, which consisted of Director of Collective Bargaining Louis Faiola, Bargaining Representative Chad Brooks, Union Representative Carilisse Lopez, Shop Steward Juanita Cruz, and committee members Innocent Madu and Felix Sanchez, Jr.

UFCW Local 152 proudly represents the workers at Casa Di Bertacchi in Vineland. These fifty members work primarily in the production of Italian meatballs sold under the Casa name.
